I am a registered user of Clipmate and for some months already I am also using the portable (bare) version.

Perfect.

Today, all of a sudden, it asks for the key :?
As I have saved it elsewhere and due to circumstances I cud not get it,
the portable version cud not be used for a while.

Matter is solved now, but still I wonder, is it normal that the portable (bare) version asks for the key after some time?

It'll run as a trial for a while. Unless you enter the key, it'll eventually time out and start nagging you.

Immy after launch it asks for a key, no key, no glory: it closes. No nagging or something, it just closes.
I entered the key now, it works fine again.
