LP5 Error While Unpacking Program (at startup)

This error happens when the license manager detects that something is trying to tamper with its defenses.  This was originally meant to thwart hacking tools, but more and more, it's Anti-malware that is the culprit.  Lately though, it seems that Windows itself may be causing it.

In November 2017, Kevin Black sent us this handy tip of how to fix it:

 

I attempted uninstall/re-install but that did not help. I got to thinking that yesterday I came across this article about activating a Windows security feature which required an addition to the registry. I removed that entry and now ClipMate works again.
